Andrew Wiese

Andrew Wiese grew up playing soccer in Albuquerque, NM and was a two time NMAA First Team All State player and member of the 1984 New Mexico State Champion team. He was five time state champion with his club team and two time regional semi-finalist. He represented the New Mexico state team five times and was selected to the Region IV Olympic Development regional pool. 

Andrew played his college soccer under Bobby Clark at Dartmouth College and was the Freshman Player of the Year and a three time All-Ivy Selection. He was a three year captain, guiding the Big Green to the NCAA Division I Elite 8 in 1990. His 1990 team still holds the record for most wins by a team in Dartmouth Soccer history. 

Post college, Andrew played professionally for Fram Culver in Southern California and was offered a contract by the Bulawayo Highlanders of the Zimbabwe Super League. 

Andrew continues to play "old man" soccer for local teams.

OPEN FIELD SESSIONS:

These are optional sessions, comprised of small sided games run by the coaching staff and team captain. They begin Tuesday, June 27 on the EHS Baseball Fields and will run every Tuesday and Thursday from 6:00pm to 7:30pm until July 27 (schedule for 4th of July week TBD).

UNM SOCCER SUMMER HIGH SCHOOL LEAGUE

Last year EHS girls soccer participated in UNM's summer soccer high school league camp and we're soliciting interest again for this coming summer. It was a great opportunity for our coaching staff to see the girls in action prior to tryouts in August. 

Dates: July 10, 12, 17, 19, 24, 26

  • Five games against other local high school teams – two games a week
  • Training shirt
  • Exposure and Feedback from UNM Women's Soccer Coaching Staff
  • All-Star game
  • College talk with UNM staff and players
  • Sports Psych presentation with certified Sports Psychologist
  • Nutrition talk with certified UNM Nutritionist
  • Strength training/recovery talk with UNM Strength Coach
  • Lobo Way Presentation, Meet and greet with Lobo Players

Cost: $84/player

Time: 4:00pm - 8:00pm

Location: UNM Indoor Practice Facility, Robertson Practice Fields

Please let me know by Friday, May 19th, if you would like to be considered for a roster spot. We need a minimum of 18 players to register a team. 

 To be considered, have your parent or guardian send an email to me at “coachwiese87@gmail.com” with “UNM High School League” in the subject line.

In the email body, include your first/last name, your 2017 fall grade (fr, so, jr, sr), preferred position, email address, mobile phone number — as well as the first/last name, mobile number, and email of your parent/guardian.

Roster spots are by invitation and are at the sole discretion of the coaching staff. Roster spots are not guaranteed until payment has been received. You will be notified as to whether you have been selected for a roster spot by June 10th.

FALL 2017 TRYOUTS:

Tryout Number Distribution: Friday, August 4 between 5:00pm and 6:00pm at the EHS Gymnasium.

*Student Athletes must provide all paperwork if not already provided (final report card, physical, APS Athletic and Activity Code Form, must have an Athletic Information Card on file) to receive tryout number. If you don’t have a tryout number, you can’t tryout.

Tryouts Begin: Monday, August 7th at 5:30pm at the EHS Baseball Fields.

Tryouts End: Thursday, August 10th

*More detailed information on tryouts will be posted at a later date

*Mandatory; Players must attend all sessions of tryouts to be considered

*All required paperwork must be on file to participate in tryouts

Last year, response was so strong that we were able to field two teams. We will accommodate that again this year pending interest.
