8th Grade Participation

Information to participate in athletics at Eldorado High School as an 8th grader. 

Steps to participate for Eldorado High School as an 8th grader:

Step 1:

8th grade candidate (with parents present) makes contact with EHS Athletic Director (Coach Roy Sanchez: sanchez_roy@aps.edu)

  • NMAA Participation Document (2 part signature form)
  • APS 8th Grade Participation Form
  • Non ADA Registration with EHS

Step 2:

8th grade candidate (with parents present) makes contact with the EHS Curriculum Secretary (Mrs. Susan Carter)

  • Must have completed the activity form with TWO proof of residence (utilities bill and title page/rental agreement) or proof he/she attended an Eldorado feeder school from 5th grade on 
  • Must have completed a current APS EHS Approved physical

Step 3:

8th grade candidate and EHS Coach must adhere to these guidelines

  • Participation of Candidate in school teams in not allowed until approved by NMAA
  • Participation of Candidate in high school athletic functions are not allowed until the end of the current school year (May 31, 2024)
  • Academic eligibility must be determined before approval. Academic eligibility is determined by 7th grade spring semester grades for fall season athletics and 8th grade fall semester grades for spring season athletics.

Step 4-: If the Candidate makes the team they must complete the APS 8th grade participation form

Failure to follow NMAA and APS Guidelines will result in 1 year athlete suspension and school program sanctions.
