2025-2026 School Year

Purpose

The Eldorado golf team inspires students to learn about golf.  The Junior Varsity team is for  intermediate players.   The Varsity team is for students who are able to score 110 or less on an 18 hole course.  The Varsity team competes in tournaments that are held on weekdays.   Students will be excused from their classes on tournament days.    This is a Fall (September  to October) and Spring (March - May) Sport.  Practices are at Los Altos Golf Course after school.  Students MUST provide their own transportation.  Practices are four days a week (Monday - Thursday) for Varsity and two days a week for JV.  There are no practices on tournament days.   

Practices

All practices are at Los Altos Golf Course.  Students must be able to provide their own transportation.  Students must have a current physical and it needs to be uploaded into the Dragonfly App.  

• Varsity: Players who qualify for Varsity are eligible to play Monday - Thursday (except tournament days) from 4 to 6 PM.  
• JV:  Players will  Practices at 4: PM- 5:30 PM Mondays thru Thursday (except tournament days).

To achieve Varsity, players need to go through a series of "tests."  This includes:  putting, chipping, and hitting balls on the range to a 100 yard target.   Students typically try out in August; however, students can request to be tested any time through the season.    

Practice times are staggered in start times and days to allow the coach to be able to meet the students.  Typically, the coach will get the Varsity playing on the front 9, the Exec, or doing drills.  JV come at 4 PM.  Typically, we meet on the range and hit balls for approximately 30 minutes.  Then we transition to putting and chipping from 5 - 5:30 PM.  Once JV is done, the coach will follow up and check on Varsity to see what their needs are.
